Wanderlust Hot Tonic with Elderflower and Holy Basil

Holy Basil is traditionally used in Ayurvedic Medicine to help the body adapt to stress and reduce cough. Elderflower is used traditionally in Western Herbal Medicine to relieve sore throats and symptoms of the common cold.

Two glasses of hot tonic with Wanderlust Elderflower and Holy Basil

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 30-40g Knob Ginger
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar, with the Mother
  • ½ Lemon
  • 4 x 2.25ml Wanderlust Holy Basil
  • 4 x 3.5ml Wanderlust Elderflower
  • 4 Mint Leaf Tips
  • 2 Cups Water

Method:

  1. Peel the ginger and slice it as thin as possible.

  2. Place the sliced ginger in a small pot and add 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil then turn down heat to medium.

  3. Simmer for 10 minutes, then turn of the heat.

  4. Add the honey, apple cider vinegar, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Mix through and let it sit for 5 minutes.

  5. Serve in 150ml shot glass. Add the mint, the Wanderlust Holy Basil, and Wanderlust Elderflower.

  6. Enjoy hot or warm.
