Ham and Pineapple Scrolls
Ingredients
- 2 cups self raising flour
- 90g butter diced
- 180ml milk plus extra for brushing
- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 and 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 200g Gamze free-range ham, chopped
- 1 cup diced pineapple
Method
- Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Line an oven tray with baking paper.
- Pour flour into a large bowl. Using fingertips, rub butter into flour until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Then pour in milk. Gently mix until a soft dough forms.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently form a ball. Using a floured rolling pin, roll out to rough rectangle
- Spread BBQ sauce over dough, leaving a border then top with cheddar, Gamze ham and diced pineapple.
- From the long side, roll up firmly into a log, brush seam with extra milk to seal. Cut into 12 equal slices.
- Place scrolls, cut-side up, on tray; brush with extra milk. Bake for 15 minutes then add another sprinkle like of cheese to each scroll. Then pop in the oven for another 5-10 minutes or until golden brown.
