Gai Lan with Sticky Asian Dressing
Prep time: 2 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 2 Bunches Gai Lan
- 100ml Asian Dressing (Beerenberg)
Method:
- Begin by bringing a steamer pot filled with water to a rolling boil.
- Trim the Gai Lan by cutting off the bottom ends, then halve the entire bunch.
- Once the water is boiling, start by steaming the stems. Cook them for 3-5 minutes, adjusting the time based on stem thickness. When done, transfer them to a serving bowl.
- Now, steam the leaves for 2-3 minutes until they turn a vibrant green and become tender.
- Warm up the dressing by placing it in a microwave-safe bowl and heating it for 30-40 seconds until it becomes warm and runny.
- Once the leaves are done steaming, remove them from the pot and place them in the same serving bowl as the stems.
- Drizzle the entire dish with the Asian Dressing and toss it thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Tips:
- Enjoy it as a delightful side dish or try it with other Asian greens.
- Transform it into a satisfying main course by adding your preferred protein and extra vegetables.
