My pick this week is a selection of produce from the Korpershoek family in northwest Tasmania. The family grow processing potatoes (lots of them) and milk cows. However, they still find time to grow produce of the highest standard for Harris Farm. So this week we have in all our stores very good brown onions, eschallots and Nicola potatoes from this exceptional farm.
Onions are onions I guess and we have them at a very attractive price, but I would like you to try the eschallots if you get the chance. They are milder than onions and used extensively in French and Asian cooking. They store extremely well and are at an absolutely fantastic price this week. Keeping them for a couple of months is no problem. The potatoes are the Nicola variety, a long oval shaped potato with a yellow skin and a buttery flesh. A fantastic potato to boil, bake or use in a salad. We at Harris Farm love selling produce from family farms such as this.
