My pick this week is Imperfect Pink Lady Apples. Pink Ladies are by far the most widely grown and consumed apple in the country. They are the last apple to be picked each season, and hence are of course the freshest apple at this time of the year. We have large fruit, smaller fruit and Imperfect fruit; a Pink Lady to suit every budget! This week we have an incredible value offer on Imperfect Pink Ladies. Current circumstances preclude most of us from putting them in the school lunch box, but filling the home fruit bowl with these apples has never made more sense!
HOW TO PICK:
Choose an apple that’s free of blemishes and bruises and feels firm when you grip it. Pay attention to the skin of the apple – dullness may indicate it’s past its prime. Make sure to wash and dry your apples as soon as you bring them home
HOW TO STORE:
If you don't have a lot of apples, the refrigerator is a good option. Place them in the crisper drawer in a plastic bag with holes in it or cover the apples with a damp paper towel. Don't store other vegetables in the same drawer, because apples give off ethylene gas, which can speed the decay of neighbouring produce....
