Timing is everything in fruit and veg and this week we have timed our run with seedless watermelon perfectly. With the weather warming up and the wholesale price being half of last week’s we are retailing seedless melon at under $1.50 kg in all stores this week.
The majority of the fruit is coming from Mildura in the north-western corner of Victoria. Customers should take advantage of this great special as it will definitely not be around for any extended period.
HOW TO PICK
Look for fruit with smooth skin, free from brown patches. It should sound hollow when tapped.
HOW TO STORE
Store out of direct sunlight for up to one week. Once cut, cover and store in the fridge for up to three days.
