Pick of the Week - Celery

This fabulous, very ancient multi-purpose vegetable is oversupplied at the Flemington markets this week. You can make soup with it, juice it, snack on it or add it to your salads. It is at a bargain price in our Harris Farm stores this week. It won’t stay this cheap for long!

HOW TO PICK
Look for firm, tightly packed stalks that are crisp enough to break easily. The leaves should not be wilted but have good body and a vibrant green colour.

HOW TO STORE
For the best results, keep celery heads whole, wrap them up tightly in aluminium foil, and then keep them in the refrigerator crisper drawer as usual. When stored this way, celery stalks can maintain their freshness anywhere from two to four weeks.
