Our white nectarines are my pick of the week. Until now, the stone fruit has been a little hit or miss, however, this week it is really worth taking home. Peaches and nectarines are both good, but first choice for me are the white nectarines. As always there are fantastic bargains to be had with our Imperfect range. Most of the fruit is the relatively new Polar Light variety, so named for obvious reasons. This fruit is grown in the Mildura area which has the best fruit at this time of the year. Our main grower, Tony Siciliano, tells me the wet weather is making life very tough down there, with over a quarter of the fruit splitting from too much water. He also told me that, at the end of the last drought, he stated he would never complain about too much water and true to his word, no complaints! I am glad I am a retailer not a farmer.
