My pick this week is broccoli. With supply coming in from Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania there is certainly no shortage. Usually, at this time of year, Victoria and Tasmania start to drop off in supply and majority comes out of Queensland. But with the favourable weather coupled with new variety trials, Tasmania has a flush and that’s where the majority of supply will be coming from this week. The quality is fantastic. It is such a versatile vegetable which can be eaten raw or cooked.

HOW TO PICK
Look for broccoli with bright green heads and compact clusters of the broccoli florets. Avoid broccoli that appears to have woody stems or those with yellow florets.

HOW TO STORE
Store broccoli in the fridge and aim to use within 5 days.
