My pick this week is the Gold Kiwifruit from the Zespri company in New Zealand. This fruit is fantastic and eats very well. One of these gold kiwifruits gives you 100% of your daily vitamin C requirements. To me, they are far tastier than the green product, they are definitely sweeter and the market is prepared to pay more for this fruit. Researchers have now developed 6 or 7 different colours of kiwi. This one is by far the best and the Zespri grown product is superior to other, cheaper, lesser gold varieties now on the market. They have a tropical taste, are low in calories, and are an aid to digestion. On the downside they don’t store as well as the green fruit, however they are a taste sensation. The Gold kiwi is in season and at their best now, they will be available until late September.

Store at room temperature and only refrigerate once ripe.
