We have opened the doors to our much-anticipated Leichhardt store.
The new and expanded store has doubled in size making it our biggest Harris Farm to date. It showcases a unique Italian-inspired mercato experience, complete with our first on-site cheesemaking facilities.
Daily live cheese production by Sydney-based La Stella will centre around the best raw materials, including cow’s milk sourced from the Sydney local Leppington Pastoral Company in Bringelly and the finest buffalo milk imported from Campania. Resident cheesemaker Claudio Bamonte will employ an array of traditional southern Italian techniques such as stretching, tying and moulding to produce handmade Italian favourites for customers: nodini, bocconcini, burrata, cheese roll, ricotta and buffalo mozzarella. The artisan cheeses will also be available for purchase at other neighbouring Harris Farm stores.
Sharing the space with La Stella will be craft cured, fermented and aged meats from Byron Bay’s Salumi and Bourke Street Bakery’s social enterprise bakery, The Bread & Butter Project. Other fixtures in the space our much-loved meat cave, deli cave and flower market stocking many of Australia’s best producers: Jack’s Creek Wagyu, Flinders Island saltgrass lamb, Hazeldene’s Farm chooks, Cape Grim meats, Valenca pork, and much more.
We recognised that the link between our brand and the Italian heritage of the neighbourhood is the family dinner table. We’re a family with Italian roots and run a family business so we’ve combined our ethos for sourcing and supplying the best ingredients with beautiful Italian hard-to-find imports to cater to all family gatherings. We’re proud to uphold the Italian heritage of the original Norton St Grocer and amplify it with an exceptional retail experience. Leichhardt features all the items we know our Drummoyne customers love and more with a nod to the story and history of the area.
Come down and say g'day at Norton Plaza, 51-57 Norton St, Leichhardt, from 7am-10pm every day of the week!
