Butcher Meat - A Guide to Butcher Meats

Butcher Meat

Butchering: A Family Business in Four Generations

With a family heritage of meat merchants spanning four generations, made up of butchers, livestock farmers and masters of every kind of cut. We’re proud to carry on this legacy today with quality cuts ranging from our poultry to dry-aged beef, and sausages to prime rib. At Harris Farm Markets, we stock the highest quality meat from sustainability-conscious farmers who take pride in raising their livestock. Everything from bbq and slow roast, grill to sous-vide, our range from Harris Farm is a great way to add gourmet flavour to your every day.

Harris Farm Markets - The beef is grass-fed

Growing grass-fed beef is a slow process. From the time our farmers start raising the calves, it takes about 18 months for them to be ready for harvest. This summer, we’re celebrating our farmers and their dedication to producing quality beef.

The first step in raising grass-fed beef is to select the right breed. Our farmers have chosen the Angus breed, which is known for its excellent meat quality and high yield. Next is to put the calves in the pasture, where they’ll be grass-fed as they grow. Depending on the weather, grass-fed beef is ready to be harvested in the autumn.

Harris Farm Dining – Simply delicious from farm to fork

Meat is at the centre of most people’s diets, and for good reason – it’s a rich source of protein, zinc and iron. There’s no better way to get these three essential nutrients than with a hearty meat dish, such as a spicy chili con carne or an Italian-inspired lasagna.

For a healthy, hearty meal, try roasting a whole chicken or a leg of lamb. For something a little more special, try baking a beef Wellington or preparing a delicious lamb shank. These dishes will satisfy any hunger, and the best part is that they’re easy to make.

At Harris Farm, we’ve been celebrating four generations of butchery excellence and sourcing quality meat for more than 50 years. We’ve seen firsthand the care and effort that goes into producing premium meat. If you’re looking to bring some gourmet flavour to your next meal, our range of kitchen essentials is a great place to start!
