My pick this week is corn. Corn prices reached record highs last week with the market achieving prices as high as $55 for loose corn, something that I have never seen in my years in the markets. The exorbitant prices have undoubtedly led to consumers going without corn over the last few weeks but this week it’s back on with a bang. The market is crashing back to a more realistic level and with have fantastic quality sweet corn from Bowen in North Queensland on special in all stores at a great price this week… a must for this week’s shopping list. I enjoy corn simply on the cob with a pinch of salt and a splash of butter.
