After struggling with volumes and quality in the latter half of winter, Lebanese cucumbers have really come on in volume over the last week or so. Mainly coming from the outskirts of Sydney, prices are steadily falling. The new crops are top quality and quite sweet to eat – best news is Lebanese cucumbers are almost half of last week's price!

Choose those with bright-green skins and a firm, fresh appearance. Avoid those with soft spots or yellowing colour.

Store in a bag in the vegetable crisper for up to five days.
