My pick this week is Hass avocados. These avocados are coming from Bundaberg and south east Queensland and are now in their prime. The fruit has a wonderful depth combined with that creamy texture that all avocado lovers have come to enjoy. Supply is now back on track after some disruption caused from rain.
HOW TO PICK
Unripe Hass avocados have green skin and feel firm. If buying a ripe avocado to eat on the same day, look for those with almost black skin that yield to gentle pressure at the stem end.
HOW TO STORE
Store at room temperature until ripe.
