We have New Season Hillston brushed potatoes as our pick for this week. The brand we favour is Red Gem and they start their winter season with Sebagos, a true and tested variety. The red soils of this area and the pristine water supply provides us with some of the best potatoes we sell all year. The potatoes are fresh, superb quality and a great price. I would suggest buying a couple of weeks supply. Keep them in a dark cool place and they will be as good in two weeks’ time as they are today.
HOW TO PICK
Pick spuds that feel firm and heavy - avoid those with sprouting eyes, or green discolouration. For even cooking, choose potatoes that are similar in size.
