Dave's Pick of the Week - Loose White Seedless Grapes

My pick of the week this week is Thompson seedless white grapes. These Thompsons are the most popular grape on the Australian domestic market. Elongated in shape, they have a light green skin which is softer than the white grapes to date in this season. This year our traditional export markets, Japan and Korea, are quieter than normal and China nearly nonexistent. As always, larger fruit is commanding a premium, but smaller fruit in bags is cheap. As a result, we have some really excellent and well-priced fruit in our stores this week. Thompsons are good right through March and most of April. Enjoy them now at their best. This week, we have secured some of that larger, very sweet eating fruit, at a very attractive price; simply because the export markets have dried up. So, it’s the same fruit as in the bags, but larger, better value and around half the price of last week.
