Dave's Pick of the Week - Kanzi Apples

My pick of the week is Kanzi apples. Kanzi is my favourite amongst the many new apples now grown in Australia. Developed in Belgium, they are a natural cross between a Royal Gala and a Braeburn, very similar in parentage to the Jazz apple. The season runs from mid-March to September. There are now 83 growers farming the variety. I think it is a very good apple with the best of the best coming from Batlow, NSW. Many of the finest apples we have sold for the past 50 years I have bought from here. They are a naturally large apple, very dense, with a crisp texture and excellent flavour.
