My pick of the week is Jazz Apples.
Jazz is a relatively new variety of apples first developed in the 1980s in New Zealand by crossing Royal Galas with the Braeburn variety. They reached commercial volumes in the early 2000s and are closely aligned with the Kanzi variety. I think it is one of the new varieties of apples that truly compete effectively with the traditional old types. They have a sweet and tart flavour. To me, it's an apple to eat, not to cook. Jazz are at their best right now. We have secured an excellent line of fruit and will have them for sale at all HFM stores this week. Well worth a try if you have not already done so. Enjoy!
