To all our Harris Farm Customers,
Firstly, we'd like to offer our thoughts to everyone during this time. We hope that everyone comes together - as we always do in Australia when we experience crisis - and that we can all extend extra kindness, patience and care for each other as we work to clean up and repair the damage left behind by these unprecedented rains and devastating floods.
We are grateful for our committed staff who have been working around the clock to ensure the shelves of our Brisbane and Sydney stores are stocked full of fresh, healthy food, and also grateful for the kindness you’ve shown our store teams, and the patience you’ve had with us while we work through the logistics of delivery.
To our farmers who have been affected right across the Australian eastern seaboard - we know that your farms are your everything, and in so many cases, have been so for generations. You are part of our family and if we can help, please let us know. While Harris Farm Markets is just 50 years young, we are in this for the long term and we stand with our farmers, our growers and our suppliers.
We, and all our farmers, know that Mother Nature grows our bounty but also reminds us our world needs looking after. This is a reminder we will never forget, and neither will all those affected so terribly. It’s imperative during times like these to stand shoulder to shoulder with those in need, so over the past week, we have done what we can ...
- Hand delivered over 200 boxes of fruit to the Mud Army support effort across Brisbane. The apples, bananas, peaches and nectarines were welcome relief over a muggy weekend
- Delivered 1.5 tonnes of fruit and veg to residents of Mullumbimby and Lismore in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, an area hit so badly and still without electricity
- Donated goods to the Triple M Relief stand at The Barracks in Brisbane, where people cleaning flood affected areas can come and get what they need for free
- Donated fresh produce for creating warm meals for families affected in the floods to the team at Gerard’s Bistro in Fortitude Valley
- Distributed rice to welfare centres, community associations and relief organisations cooking meals for flood affected communities in Brisbane and the Northern Rivers.
There is more we will do. Every day brings fresh needs and if we can help, we will because this is Australia and we are Australian.
Stay safe.
Sincerely,
Tristan, Luke and Angus Harris | Co-CEOs
