Farmer Friend - Harvest Moon

Tasmania is recognised as one of the best vegetable producers in Australia, and for good reason. Its cool climate, pure air and abundant rainfall offer the perfect conditions for growing full-flavoured vegies. Low levels of chemical residues and pollutants make Tassie vegies stand aside the world’s best.

Harvest Moon, Tassies leading veggie growers have been supplying Harris Farm Markets with cool climate veggies from their farm, in the pristine environment of Tasmania, for over 20 years.

Harvest Moon’s farms are located around Forth in North West Tasmania and in the northern midlands centred on Longford/Cressy. They grow, pack and market approx 60,000 tonnes of premium quality fresh vegetables to domestic and international customers annually. The veggies include carrots, broccoli, red onions, brown onions, swedes, green beans, leeks, potatoes and beetroot to name just a few. Harvest Moon's production areas capitalise on Tasmania's abundant natural resources, guaranteeing higher standard full flavoured vegetables and lasting quailty.

Vegies grown in the world’s cleanest air

Tasmanian vegetables taste great because they are grown in the cleanest air and watered by the purest rain on earth, in a temperate climate.  When it’s cooler, vegetables grow more slowly and experience little or no heat stress, resulting in a fuller flavour and longer shelf life. They’re also harvested, packed and in-store within days, so consumers have the best quality in-season vegies available.
