Dave's Market Update (QLD) - 19 October 2022

Dave's QLD Market Update for October 19 2022 includes white asparagus, telegraph cucumbers, darwin mangos, imperfect zucchini, blueberries, ginger, imperfect kumera, loose corn and tomato varieties

In Fruit:

It is all about mangoes and premium blueberries in fruit this week. Darwin mangoes are at their absolute best this week and quantities are building up - they are eating superbly. In blueberries, I recommend you spend a little extra and purchase the premium fruit. It's bigger, crunchier and very sweet. I love them on my cereal in the morning.

Strawberries are also much improved this week. Bananas remain great value and the spring crops are in full swing and well priced.

In Veg:

Another great week for Veg specials at HFM this week. Telegraph cucumbers, broccolini, zucchini and corn lead the charge with prices back to pre-covid levels. Fantastic bargains in imperfect kumera and we have premium ginger at a great price this week.

All tomatoes, truss, snacking and gourmets continue to be top quality and great value. All the asparagus options are available now, regular, baby, whites, barbecue - are fabulous quality and all well priced. I love the thick asparagus on my barby with a good steak.
