Dave's Market Update
In Veg
“This week, we have amazing specials in the vegetable space. Prepack corn, Truss tomatoes, 1kg carrots and red capsicums are all retailing at less than half of last week price!
Our 500-gram prepack corn is coming from Bowen in far North Queensland and the Lockyer valley in southeast Queensland. The corn is the gold sweet variety which is one of the best sweet eating.
Red capsicums are flowing in from Bowen in north Queensland. Excellent weather conditions have provided for fantastic quality red caps. We have turned back time this week with our 1kg prepack carrot offering. 1kg prepack carrots are retailing at 0.99 cents in all stores. We were selling at these prices 5 years ago!!
There is still plenty of great value with Sydney basin leafy vegetables this week. Favourable conditions have seen these crops flourish and are terrific value this week. These include Coriander, Dutch carrots, Continental parsley, English spinach, kale and Silverbeet.
Hand-pick beans are quite expensive but this week we have some locally grown Italian or continental beans at a fraction of the hand pick bean cost. Italian or continental beans are a very flavoursome bean and a terrific alternative. Amazing in a paella!!
Iceberg lettuce, imperfect eggplant and imperfect Kumera are all well supplied and great value this week.
Asparagus continues to be well supplied with prices dropping again this week. Look out for some fantastic specials all week in store.
