Dave's Market Update
In Fruit
“In fruit this week, it’s our imperfect lemons that are the best money saver I have seen at our stores. There are massive transport issues all across QLD due to floods in the growing areas. The growers are not picking until they are sure they can get their product to market. This small fruit is just the perfect imperfect pick to fill that gap!
Figs are really starting to eat well and there are now very good plums available as well as peaches and nectarines.
The smaller imperfect Williams pears in our stores are really great value and Gala apples are eating fantastically.
It’s Valentine’s day this Friday, you will find a gift to suit every budget at HFM this week."
In Veg
“Good supplies of corn, really good eating corn, continue to arrive from Victoria plus good local product. Kumera continues to arrive in good numbers, some of it is on the large side as the floods in Qld have left them unable to be harvested in a timely manner.
Fennel has eased in price, as has broccoli. Lebanese cucumbers are still very reasonably priced and imperfect tomatoes remain cheap and good. Don’t miss our nets of red caps, they are a real bargain.”

Dave's Pick of the Week
“My pick this week is imperfect lemons.
Lemons are incredibly scarce and pricey. This imperfect fruit we are selling this week in the imperfect range are fabulous value. We like to see our imperfects around half the price of the regular range however these lemons are less than a quarter price.
Full of juice, clean as a whistle. Their only issue is they fall outside the supermarkets size criteria in that they are a bit small. This is an absolute bargain! Don’t miss out, put a few extra in the fridge!”
