Dave's Market Update
In Veg
โThis week we are promoting 1kg carrots. We have plenty of 1kg bag carrots on offer at a fantastic price. New season asparagus has commenced. From Koo Wee Rup and Mildura in Victoria, the quality is outstanding, and prices are softening. If the weather conditions stay favourable, expect this to continue in the coming weeks.ย
We have some beautiful shallots on offer this week, coming from the Sydney Basin and Victoria. Both quality and price are excellent! The recent rain has impacted the tomato crops, resulting in an increase in the volume of Imperfect Tomatoes on the market this week. They are great value this week and, all things considered, pretty good quality. Fresh basil from the Sydney Basin is also great value this week.ย
Worth a mention: zucchini, English spinach, fennel, tender stem baby broccoli, and coriander are good value this week.โย

โThe silky mango season has begun! Silky Mangoes from Bundaberg in Far North Queensland are available in all stores. Known for their sweetness, the silky season is a relatively short one. These mangoes are a must-try.ย
Seedless watermelons are still plentiful and fantastic value this week. These melons come from Queensland and the Riverina and are the perfect way to enjoy the long weekend. White grapes continue to ease in price, and the quality is fantastic. For those looking to indulge, our premium white grapes are truly something special!ย
The volume of limes shows no sign of slowing down. Limes continue to be great value, sourced from North Queenslandโs Tablelands. A fantastic alternative to lemons, especially as lemons are still on the expensive side. Rockmelons are fantastic eating right now, coming from Mildura in Victoria. This region produces some of the best rockmelon at this time of year.ย
Peaches and nectarines are still excellent value and tasting fantastic. The plum season is in full swing! We have some top-quality varieties on offer: Queen Garnets, Sugar Plums, September Candy, and Black Splendour. All of these are excellent eating plums! For those looking for great value, our Imperfect Plums are also fantastic and affordable.ย
New season Gala Apples and William Pears are now in stores and just in time for the back-to-school period. The Gala Apples have an outstanding flavour profile this year, thanks to some favourable weather conditions. Expect prices to come down each week as the season progresses. The William Pears are a soft-skinned, golden-yellow variety, offering sweet, juicy goodness. Prices will soften as the season picks up.โย

Dave's Pick of the Week - Imperfect Honey Gold Mangoes
ย
โThis week, weโre highlighting the deliciously sweet Imperfect Honey Gold Mangoes! Consistent rain and strong winds in the Queensland mango growing areas have led to increased blemishes on the skin of the fruit; however, these honey gold mangoes are eating every bit as good as the premium fruit at a fraction of the price.โย
