Dave's Market Update - 24.11.21

In Fruit: The wet weather is also taking a toll on fruit, particularly the new season cherries, but all stone fruit is suffering. Currently, there are good peaches and nectarines, albeit less than we would have had but for the rain. Our Imperfect white nectarines are a bargain this week. Avos continue to be cheap, however it is now late for Queensland fruit; look for Southern fruit (only a little of this left) and the safest bet will be fruit from Western Australia. In citrus, limes continue to ease in price and Imperfect lemons, a bit large and misshapen, are delivering good value. Papaya, bananas and topless pines are all good quality and well-priced as they have been for a month now. Some good quality KP mangoes from North Queensland are starting to come through. Personally I will stick with the honey golds for another week or so. Our fantastic Victorian Christmas trees will be in stores from the 1st of December onwards!

In Veg: The situation for most vegetables is fairly dire hence this vegetable blog will be very short! Truss tomatoes and telegraph cucumbers (both coming from glasshouse production) are still very well supplied and so inexpensive. The only good news outside that, is that Dutch carrots are good and cheap, and that corn is easing in price.
