Choice Cuts - 09.06.15

In case you thought you might miss out our fantastic Beef Eye Fillets from Tasmania continue to be on special this week. Back in stores is roast pork scotch fillet. I am really satisfied with the look and presentation we have achieved with this line, and I think with these cool days this is an awesome cut that is super easy to cook. You can slice it thinly and make a scalloped pork dish, you can cut into thicker pork scotch fillet steaks, or simply a quick roast, being a pretty healthy one at that being a crackle free item.

The highlight in lamb is whole shoulders from Cootamundra region and also Tatura in Victoria. Cootamundra and surrounds is renowned for good lamb, and this is a bit of a first for us, the specification for these bone in shoulders was spot on. With the cold weather a constant in our lives for the next couple of months, something like a shoulder with a bottle of cheap red thrown over it, some smashed garlic and rosemary sprigs makes for a pretty awesome smell all day in the oven, and even more sensational when you get to eat it! Low and slow is the key with a shoulder. In chicken we have a fantastic offer on twin packed size 8 chickens. The smaller birds definitely have a sweeter taste, and they are great to get creative with in the kitchen! At 30% off you can’t really go wrong. In the deli we have a 1kg middle bacon at a super price.
