Spring – sinus season for some, or for me, the new lambs coming through and that’s a pretty exciting time of year. The colour of the meat lightens right up, the size drops and meat is sweeter. The product is absolutely sensational, I have drawn a mix on this occasion, we have some from the Central West and Cowra region as well as up around the Northern Tablelands and Tamworth area. The value is fantastic, the quality rocks, flavour sensational, get behind it and celebrate spring lamb!
It’s no secret that the market on beef is still red hot, but we continue to find areas that can offer us great quality meat products at good value. Well, we certainly have that in the super tender juicy grass-fed sirloin portions off some pretty exceptional stock from Victoria’s Gippsland region. When compared to a sliced sirloin, this is serious value!
A great line that is probably a bit underrated is the pork scotch fillet steak. They cook very quickly, are superb with a sauce and mash, and because they are a richer flavour, really keep you from overeating. Low in fat, high in iron, pork is really coming back into vogue and this is an excellent value line to get back into it.
To round out the week, the ever popular chicken tenderloins come back on special, and a short cut rindless bacon at a great price.
