What a great week we have ahead of us - commencing with the new free range chicken from Hazeldene’s, and we are seeing yearling cattle prices come back a bit now. There is plenty to be smiling about.
Spring lamb continues, and this week the super versatile boneless lamb chumps are the key note special. These are brilliant barbequed, grilled, cut into steaks or slowly roasted in the webber or oven. Try something different, and don’t be afraid to get strong flavours onto the products, the lamb is at its best right now, and can handle the intense flavours.
We also have veal rumps from South East Queensland which look to be great value. It is definitely time to start thinking about summer entertaining and the Christmas and New Year requirements, so these are just brilliant. Super soft tender juicy meat ready for the BBQ. The beauty of something like this is you can leave it in it’s vac pack in the fridge for up to 6 weeks to get it to it’s optimum eating qualities.
We have the ever popular fresh chicken breast fillets this week at a fantastic price, and these need no further words. In our pre-packed deli the Gold Medal winning Salumi Chorizo is on special this week. Let me tell you a bit about these little gems. Yesterday I was having a friendly discussion with one of our resident Chorizo aficionados Jose, and he politely told me our Chorizo was no good. After I picked my jaw up off the ground, I asked a few probing questions about what on earth he was buying, turns out he wasn’t referring to the award winning Salumi Chorizo. The Salumi has a beautiful soft fermented feel that only needs to be warmed to get some caramelisation on it to give it contrast, twenty minutes later and a store visit to buy said Chorizo, we have another convert. Try it, it is the best Chorizo in Australia.
