HONEY GOLD MANGOES

Highly aromatic Honey Gold mangoes have a yellow-orange glossy skin and an intense, punchy, distinctive mango flavour. A small seed means there is more delicious, fibreless flesh to enjoy and the texture is smooth and fibre-free. Ideal for fresh-eating, they're juicy, yet firm enough to hold their shape when cut. An average of 500-600 grams each, Honey Gold mangoes have an appealing orange flesh and exceptional shelf life.

A serve of a ripe mango provides you with up to three times your recommended intake of Vitamin A & C, they are high in beta-carotene and a rich source of fibre and potassium.

HOW TO PICK
Select ripe and ready-to-eat Honey Gold mangoes have a consistent all-over orange skin.

Generally, the best way to buy a mango is to simply use your nose. A ripe fresh mango should have a fragrant tropical fruity aroma, a full colour and will give slightly to the touch, but stay away from very soft or bruised fruit.

HOW TO STORE
When stored properly a mango should have a shelf life of about a week. A mango will not ripen in the refrigerator mangoes should not be refrigerated until they are ripe. Fully ripe mangoes can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days. Never store mangoes in plastic bags - mangoes need air.

PREMIUM MAINLAND CHERRIES

Cherries are 1-3 cm in diameter, round to heart-shaped, with a hollow at the stalk end. Their stalks are 2-7 cm long and are left attached after harvesting. Their skin is usually smooth, glossy, red to deep red or black in colour, and have red to crimson, soft, moist, sweet flesh. In the centre lies a fat, oval seed but the best part is the sweet, juicy flesh.

HOW TO PICK
Cherries are picked from the tree, but do not continue to ripen afterwards. Make sure you choose plump glossy cherries with relatively smooth, unblemished skin and bright green stems in good condition.

HOW TO STORE
Keeping the fruit cool and dry is the secret to preserving its freshness, quality and shelf life. Store in the fridge, between 0-4 degrees, in a snap-lock bag or air-tight container.Only rinse cherries when ready to eat them, as they can absorb water and soften.
