Pick of the Week - Brown Onion

This is the time of the year that brown onions are at their absolute best. From mid February we source our onions from South Australia (which is the largest onion producer in the country) along with Tasmania, the best quality producer. These onions have a good strong flavour, will keep for months and are available in our stores at a very attractive price this week. Stock up and save!

Brown onions are versatile and can be roasted, sauteed, stir-fried, boiled, barbequed or grilled. They have been a kitchen must have for a very long time now but we've listed why it's good to include onions in to your diet. READ: Brown onions: An oldie but a goodie

HOW TO PICK
Choose firm, well-shaped onions with small necks and dry, papery skin. Avoid spongy or sprouting onions with uneven or patchy skin colouring.

HOW TO STORE
Onions will keep for months if you store them in a cool, dry, dark place.
